Night Sunset Bracelt

Here it is… as promised… my new bracelet! :-)

The first beaweaving technique I ever learnt was Right Angle Weave (RAW). I love this stitch!!!! it’s so versatile! You can use it flat, you can build on it, you can make 3-dimensional shapes out of it… it’s amazing!!! In an effort to try RAW out , I spent huge amounts of time making different designs… this one was one of my first. As you saw yesterday, I cleared up my workspace and in doing so I found one of my first bracelets… covered in dust at the bottom of a box… I had forgotten all about it, and realized that I really like it, so I decided to make another one, using different colours… This is the result:

Night Sunset Bracelet

I haven’t stopped wearing it since I made it! I really love it!!! The pictures don’t do the richness of the colours justice… The orange Swarovski sparkles beautifully in contrast to the black matt firepolished bead and turquoise matt Swarovski crystals!

If you are interested in me making one for you, check out my shop for details! :-)

Why I’ve been so Unproductive… and a new piece

Well… Lately, even though I seem to have all the time in the world, as my son started pre-school and comes home at 4.30 everyday, leaving me lots of time to bead… work… and even exercise… I found myself unable to sit down and come up with anything creative… although I have managed to work and, believe it or not, exercise… every morning, as soon as I have dropped him off at school, I blast my ipod and power walk for an hour… very proud of myself!!! yet… beading… has been more difficult to do… so I looked at my workspace… and this is what I found… a HUGE mess!!!!

IMG_2245Shameful, right? :-) This could explain my cluttered mind and my inability to sit down and bead… nowhere to sit and bead, that’s why!!! So I dedicated a whole day to cleaning up and tried to re-organize my workspace! and here are the results:

So much better, although not perfect, but at least I can actually find the tables!!! :-)

So no more excuses!!!

I bought these AMAZING lampwork beads from Tera Belinsky-Yoder of BeadyGirl Beads and really wanted to make something with them!

Here is the first piece I made using one of these beautiful pieces of glass art:

Cosmic Carnival Bracelet

Amazing what can be achieved with a bit of order in ones life! :-)

I even made another bracelet, although not with Tera Belinsky-Yoder’s beads… a remake of one of my first designs that I found at the bottom of a box…. I haven’t worked on the photos yet, so come back tomorrow and check it out!!!

BAO Item of the week

It’s been a GREAT week!!! My son is not only back at school, but he is going to be there (from Sunday) till 4.30 pm everyday!!! Which means my life can go back to normal (last year he was coming home at 1.30 pm everyday)… so not only will I have time to get all my work done (real job) but also have time to create new pieces, start working on some instructions for sale…. and hopefully, if I can get it together, start making some beaded bags…. which is actually why I started beading in the first place!!! I have a terrible bag fetish… the more the merrier! :-) I have all the materials… I just didn’t have the time to sit down and start my first one! :-)

As soon as I catch up with my “real” work… I will buckle down and start working on all the things I’ve been dreaming about for over a year!!!

In the meantime… here are this week’s BAO items, all gorgeous as usual!!!
